Bangladesh student protest at muhammad yunus official residence

Quddus Afrad, Dhaka
Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor to the Interim Government of Bangladesh in the face of sudden protests to get continuous support. After the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government, a section of the students who installed her in the seat of power surrounded her official residence and clashed with the security forces. Although 10-15 people were injured in the gas shells fired by the police, the angry students could not be suppressed. When they arrived, they again besieged Yunus' house 'Jamuna'. The demand is only one – the upper age limit for applying for government jobs should be increased from 30 to 35. It was demanded that the guidelines should be issued today. After much disturbance, they entered Yunus's house in the afternoon and had a meeting for an hour. But all 'in vain'! Part of the students said that the meeting failed.

Later, Russell Al Mahmud, on behalf of the protesters, lowered his voice and said, “There was a meeting with the advisors Asif Mahmud and Nahid Islam as the chief advisor was tired. Tomorrow, Tuesday, a delegation of ours will meet with the Ministry of Public Administration to meet the demands of 35. He said, 'It is not possible to issue guidelines in a hurry.'

Russell also told the media that a report of the discussion regarding the settlement of claims will be published in the next seven days. Another activist Abu Saeed Saad said, 'I am not ending the movement now. But now we will leave in front of Yamuna and stay at Shahbagh.'

Students on their way back to Bangladesh, what demands have they made?

The demand to increase the age limit in jobs is not new. Hasina-Amal also appeared several times. However, citing the report of a committee in this regard, Hasina rejected it. It reared its head again in the anti-discrimination movement of July. Many thought that their demands would be accepted only after the fall of the Hasina government. Otherwise, chaos again.

The movement was going on in Shahbagh for so long. On this day, they suddenly violated section 144 and were stopped by the police. But even the forces could not have predicted that the situation would become such a battlefield. Photo: Social Media
