Durga Puja 2024: Change of decision, Kumari Puja will be held at Ramakrishna Mission in Dhaka – dhaka ramakrishna math and mission authorities decided to celebrate kumari worship during durga puja like every year

Dhaka Ramakrishna Math and Mission authorities changed their decision about the puja. Earlier they informed that there will be no Kumari Puja this time. However, this decision was reversed after security assurances were received from Bangladesh Army Chief Waqar-uz-Zaman. Like other years, the Kumari Puja is being organized there this year as well, the Ramakrishna Mission of Dhaka said. Even though the puja has started, the panic among the Hindus in Bangladesh has not completely subsided. Adequate and three-tier security for the puja has been assured by the police and army. The Interim Government of Bangladesh also said that all steps are being taken to conduct Durga Puja peacefully and smoothly.

Meanwhile, the Ramakrishna Math and Mission authorities in Dhaka decided not to perform Kumari Puja due to the situation that arose after the fall of Hasina's government there. After knowing this, the Hindus there were upset. It is known that the Bangladesh army chief came to know about the decision not to perform Kumari Puja. After that, the Deputy Army Chief on his behalf went to Ramakrishna Mission last Saturday and met Swami Purnatmananda. The Army has assured complete security during the Puja. Along with this, it is requested that Kumari Puja should not be omitted. It was then decided to perform Kumari Puja again.

Durga Puja: Dhaka Ramakrishna Mission's decision not to perform Kumari Puja, why?
Swami Haripremananda (Swapan Maharaj), who is in charge of this year's puja of Dhaka Ramakrishna Mission, said, 'This decision was taken at the request of the army. Mission chief Purnatmananda Maharaj promised the army that Kumari Puja would be organised. We are taking the initiative to organize it.' He also said that the army is taking responsibility for the mission's security during the puja days.

On the other hand, President of Bangladesh Puja Udjakar Parishad Vasudev Dhar said, 'We have been assured by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the police that no untoward incident will happen during the puja. We also hope they will provide full security during the Puja.'
