Preparations for Durga Puja are going on in the premises of Ramna Kalimandi in the capital like every year. It can be seen yesterday evening, the structure of the statue has been made. Now the painting work is going on.
For 14 years, Ratan Pal worked to make the idol of Ramana. He told Prothom Alo that he started painting the statue from Thursday. He hopes to finish all the work of making the idol including painting and dressing by Monday.
Apart from this mandap in Ramana Kalimandi premises, Ratan Pal is making idols of Kala Bagan, Manipuripara, Tejkunipara, Shaheenbagh and Azimpur mandap in the capital. After the idol is fully prepared, it will be delivered to the mandapam. He is making a total of 11 idols in Nilphamari, Gopalganj, Manikganj, Barisal, Narail and Madaripur along with Dhaka. Made 16 idols last year.
